We were honoured and delighted to be asked
to take part in a charity event which a couple of friends
organised in aid of Marie Curie Big Build Appeal. The event
was held on the 30th May 2009 in the Crown Plaza Hotel, Glasgow.
Celebrities
from STV Television and local radio were asked to take part
and eventually 7 celebs signed on. The event was called Marie
Curie Celebrity ‘Come Dance With Me’.
We
were paired up with Vicky Lee – Presenter/Reporter from
the Hour Show on STV and Des Clarke – Galaxy Radio Morning
Breakfast Presenter and Stand Up Comedian.
They
are extremely busy people and after several weeks of training
they were ready to take on the world. Des danced a Tango and
a Cha Cha Cha, Vicky danced an American Smooth and a Rumba.
We
had a great time during the training sessions and they were
both full of fun.
When
the big night arrived all the celebs and their respective
professional partners were really nervous and wanted to do
their very best. Everyone who attended the event had a brilliant
time and the event raised a total of £7,304.84 for the
Big Build Appeal.....Fantastic!!!!

"I
don’t think George and Janet knew what they’d
let themselves in for when they ended up with me as their
‘celebrity’ student. I’d done some dancing
when I was very wee but recently the only dancing I’d
done was in a nightclub. However, they were both very understanding
and I must say very good at actually getting me to not just
learn the right ballroom moves but also remember them! I really
enjoyed rehearsing with them both and if I can do it anyone
can!"
